Cookie Monster had an image makeover. With it came a new catchphrase: “C is for cookie, but only in moderation”.
Obesity is an epidemic in North America, in accord the image change seems fitting. Although, this issue is moot. Watching cookie monster devour cookies makes anyone crave unhealthy snacks. The boundary, however, between a snack and healthcare issue is the fault of the parent not child. In my opinion, the change in character is asinine. We are delusional if we blame child obesity on cookie monster. Irresponsible parenting is the culprit. My healthy eating habits are not a result of a child tv show, but my parents forcing me to eat my vegetables.
This is what bothered me on 02/16/12, not the Syrian “war” or waste managements strikes in Toronto, but the rehabilitated healthy choices monster.
